Stock up for Easter! Lots of easy access parking and we'll match sales prices!

Welcome to Cork's Easter newsletter. Just a reminder we will be open from 9 AM until 10 PM on both Good Friday, and the Saturday before Easter for your shopping convenience. We will be closed on Easter Sunday.

I'd like to thank all of you who attended our 6th Annual Grand Spring Wine tasting last Thursday. While it may have been a little lighter turnout than usual, (Yankee Spirits in South Attleboro had their big tasting the same night), I think it gave you folks more elbow room and space to maneuver around the store and talk with the wine salespeople. We are thinking of going back to the original Saturday afternoon time slot like we do for our big beer tastings going forward. This seems to work best for most of you as you have Sunday to "recover" from the tasting without having to worry about getting up the next day for work. Please let us now if you have any feedback (positive or negative) on the tasting and what day/time you would like to see them on.

Marc is making up for the fact that I stole his Thursday night last week for a wine tasting with a double barreled beer tasting bonanza this week. We have Andrew from Sam Adams here tonight from 4:30 to 7 to sample you on their Summer Variety 12-pks. In addition to the usual suspects, this year’s mix includes East/West Kolsh (whatever the heck that is) and Rustic Saison. This package has been o
ur "Beer of the Month" for April and we've sold a ton at $13.99 (with a free glass!) but this week they are just $12.99 and yes, we'll still throw in the limited edition Sam Adams glass for you. On Saturday we have my cousin Vinnie here from 3:30 to 6 PM for a Goose Island beer tasting. He will have the 312 Wheat...Honker's Ale...IPA...Summertime...and also Sophie and Pepe Nero in the larger formats. We will take 10% off any Goose Island Beer during this tasting event.

I'm not going to have a wine tasting this Friday night as we are still recovering from last week’s big event. I do think we are having a customer tasting next Friday night with Guy and Phil but unfortunately I won't be here for that 1 either. I will be down in sunny Ft. Myers Beach on a special assignment to investigate how the Sox losing 10 of their last 11 in the Grapefruit League led to their horrendous start this year. This is a tough assignment so I've enlisted the help of our web mistress Marianne to sit on the deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico with a drink to help me ponder this inexplicable situation. So with me not here next week, our weekly sale will now be a 2 week sale!

6th Annual Grand Spring Wine Tasting

Welcome to Cork's 6th Annual Grand Wine Tasting newsletter! I have just put the finishing touches on the line-up and we have 87 wines and 4 liquor items to taste. There are a ton of new wines and if I do say so myself, this is one of the best collections of wines we've had in a while.

We have a couple of new suppliers to welcome to the mix and just 14 tables so there should be a little more elbow room. We have our friends from Preservation Framer here to display soe of their artwork and picture frames. They are local guys from North Attleboro and we will be supplying them wine at all their future art shows, so be sure to check them out. We have our new Pizza guys from Alberto's supplying us with pizza and we will have plenty of other snacks and munchies as well.

We won' t have a beer tasting this week as we had to bump my cousin Vinnie for the big wine tasting. Marc does have Sam Adams, Redhook and Quality summer beers lined up the next 3 Thursdays and we will try to run them every Thursday night right through the summer months. We are also featuring Sam Adams Summer Variety 12 Packs as our beer of the month. They are sale priced at $13.99 and you get a free Sam glass with every 12 pk purchase. We will be running the weekly sale from last week for another week. You can check out the sale items on our whiteboard as you come in the store. Throughout the store, look for our signs and displays. You can also find the list on our website (http://www.corksfinewine.com/) and our blog (http://www.corksfinewinenewsletter.blogspot.com/)

Well, we go the Bruins and Celtics opening up their playoff runs this week. I, for one, don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling of either of them going really deep, I'm afraid. And yes, I am the same yahoo who predicted all 4 local teams to win their titles this year. At least the Sox are off to a good start...grrr...well, it's still early and you have to think that they will turn this around. There's just too much talent on this team to be 2 and 9. At least we can't lose tonight with a rainout. Well, the April showers should clear in time for tomorrow's tasting, so get out your shorts and Easter best and head over to Cork's from 5 to 7:30 for our 6th Annual Grand Spring Wine Tasting!

One week to our big 6th Annual Grand Spring Wine Tasting!!

Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. We are just about 1 week away from our 6th Annual Grand Spring Wine tasting. The date is next Thursday April 14th from 5 to 7:30 PM. I’m almost done with the lineup and I must say it’s 1 of the best mixes of wines in quite some time. Here is a quick peek at some of the wines and liquor items we will pouring. Flying Winemaker…First Press…Polka Dot… Gascon…Apothic Red…Las Rocas… Cupcake…J. Lohr…Cellar # 8…Clos Du Val…Girosele…Llama…Rum Jumbie…Cline…Pacific Rim…Cristalino…Gloria Ferrer…Rex Goliath…Liberty School…Ca’ Momi…Mumm…Root 1…BV Coastal…Faust…Shannon Ridge…Stephen Vincent…Sean Minor…Voga…Trapiche…Kendal Jackson…Santa Christina and many more. We should have a complete list up on the website (corksfinewine.com) by this Saturday. We do not have a beer or wine tasting this week as we prepare the store for the grand tasting. Marc does have beer tastings lined up with Sam Adams…Redhook…and Quality Summer Beers in the next 3 weeks. Speaking of Summer Beers most of them have filtered through in the last few weeks and we are currently closing out winter beers at 15 % off. We did a little reset in the fine wine department this past week. We moved French wines to the very back of the laydowns and Spain, Portugal, and European wines are now in that front section. We are also moving South Africa around the corner into the Australia section and expanding our Chile and Argentina wines. Wine Sale Items for week ending 4-13-11

Well it’s a good thing the Sox haven’t started the season yet...what’s that...they have???...how can this lineup be 0 and 5??? Let’s hope we take the finale in Cleveland and come home and turn things around on the Spankees. At least the Celtics and Bruins are putting things together for their post-season runs.

We are now open until 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays through the summer months. OK...back to work to finish the re-sets and get the store ready for the big tasting. Have a great weekend. Robert
