Who will host our next Customer Wine Tasting?

Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. I hope everybody had a great 4th of July weekend. Finally a nice long stretch of warm summer weather is upon us, and after a couple of tweaks, our AC is back up and kicking. We apologize for the “uncoolness” of our store over the weekend but, 1 of rooftop units was not working.

A big thank you to Aimee and Clara (AKA The Wrap Girls) for doing a great job at last Friday night’s Customer Wine Tasting. They had some great wines they were pouring and considering it was the long holiday weekend, and most of you were in a get-a-way mode, I think we had a good turnout. They filmed a bit in the store http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=587737003807&oid=172999266075278&comments and I’m sure they will talk more about it on this week’s show. We will have them back sometime during the Christmas season for another Customer Wine tasting….so, who’s next??

This week’s beer tasting is with our good friend Tim Coleman. He’s the British dude…or maybe it’s Scottish…or is it Irish??...either way he’s the guy with the cool accent and the awesome beers we always hide in the back at the big beer tastings. He will have this months “Beer of the Month” Heavy Seas Sunken Sampler to taste you on. It consists of Hop3 IPA…Classic Lager…Pale Ale…and X Beer, which is their secret treasure that changes seasonally. The mix 12-PK will be $13.99 through Sunday and $14.99 for the rest of the month. So get here this Thursday from 4:30 to 7 PM and try some ExtrAARGHdinary Beers, and don’t forget you get a free pint glass with your “Beer of the Month” mixed 12 pack.

We have Jay from Commonwealth Wines making his Friday night debut this week from 4:30 to 7 PM at the back wine bar. He has a nice collection of new and affordable summer wines for you to try out. The highly successful Polka Dot Rieslings have added another color to their collection. The “Yellow Dot” Riesling, unlike its German sisters in Green and Pink, is a California Riesling. Mirassou Chardonnay will be the next value white we will be tasting. Red Rock Merlot has been out for a few years now and will be next. The Red Rock line has recently expanded and we will be pouring the new Red Rock Malbec and Red Rock Red Blend. These are great wines to go with ribs and steaks from the grill. He might have a surprise bonus item to sample you on, but he is waiting to see if he can snag a sample. So be sure to stop on by and get 10% off on any of these great Summer wines.

Don’t forget our 5th Annual Customer Appreciation Day tasting is less that a month away. The date is Saturday July 30th from 1 to 4 PM. We are just now putting the lineup of tasting items together, and scavenging for “stuff” to give away. We may not have the big advertising budgets of our competitors but this is our way of showing thanks to you, our customers, for shopping here at Cork’s.

Enjoy the great summer weather and we’ll see you all soon.

Robert
