Dont fear the dark...beer, that is...and check out our new weekly poll.

Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. Very nice win by the Pats last week against the Jets, let’s hope they can keep it rolling against the Cowboys on Sunday. Looks like the B’s are suffering from the Stanley Cup hangover, and the Sox keep cleaning house with Theo out the door now. Now if he could only take Lackey and Crawford with him.

Be sure to check out the blog (http://www.corksfinewinenewsletter.blogspot.com/) and vote for your favorite tasting we do here at Cork’s. We will be putting different polls and surveys up to try and get your feedback on stuff going on here at Cork’s.

Marc will be doing a “Don’t Fear Dark Beer” Tasting tonight (Thursday) from 4:30 to 7 PM. He will have Sam Adams Black Lager…Harviestown Old Engine Oil…Firestone Walker’s Reserve Porter…Clown Shoes Blaecorn Unidragon…Wachusett Black Shack Porter…and Samuel Smith Taddy Porter. Sounds like some yummy beer for a dark and dreary fall night. We will take 10% off any of the beers you sample, so come to the “Dark Side” tonight at Cork’s.

I will be doing what probably will be my last Friday night wine tasting (4 to 7 PM) of the year at Cork’s….No, I’m not going anywhere…It’s just that I have almost all the other Friday nights booked up till years end. I will start with 2 wineries I visited and I think put out some incredible wines. Mionetto Sergio Prosecco (92 points Wine Enthusiast) will start the evening off with a pop. From there we go to Oregon for Anne Amie Estate Dry Riesling. If you’re looking for a sickeningly sweet Riesling, well this isn’t the one for you. The next 2 wines are featured in our bi-weekly whiteboard specials, Bridlewood Chardonnay and Parker Station Pinot Noir. Both of these wines are regularly $14.99 and are on sale for just $10.99. Campos Reales Tempranillo is another great value wine at $6.99 (2 for $12) and is the perfect base wine for making Sangria. We will end the “Value” portion of the tasting with another fantastic wine, Cameron Hughes Lot 17 Meritage. I bought the last of this lot at one of the supplier tastings, and this wine should retail at $20 to $25 but is only $12.99!

Be sure to check out the rest of the “Whiteboard Specials we have going on (http://www.corksfinewine.com/weeklyspecials.htm). And don’t forget we have a special tasting lined up for next Friday night. We will have winemaker Francis Sanders and artist David Griffin here to sample you on wines based on characters from Corked! the comic. While Francis tells you about his delicious wines, David will do a caricature of you! This should be a lot of fun and the wines are really good too! Have a great weekend everybody and we’ll see you soon.

Robert
