Happy Easter from all of us at Cork's Fine Wine

Welcome to Cork’s Easter newsletter. I would like to thank all of you who attended our 5th Annual Grand Spring Wine tasting last week. Although the turnout was a little lighter than normal, I thought it was very successful. Quite a few of you commented on how it was more manageable, and easier to talk with the reps. Unbeknownst to us we ran into Yankee Spirits spring tasting which kept the numbers here down a bit…heck, we even had 2 extra pizzas!!! We are open to your comments and suggestions on how we can make the next tasting even better.

We will not have an official wine tasting this Friday night as it's Good Friday and we’ll be kind of busy. But our friend John from Trio Wines said he’d stop by and sample you on a few of his wines, if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Next Saturday (April 18th) from 2-5 PM we will have Erin from J. Polep here with some organic wines, and earth friendly wine bags to help celebrate Earth Day.

I’d like to wish all our Jewish friends a happy Passover season. We have a rack in the front of the store with a few kosher wines and beers for your convenience. We will also have Melissa from Schmaltz Brewing Co. here to sample you on their crazy Coney Island Beers this Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. She will have the Coney Island Lager, Albino Python, Sword Swallower, and Human Blockhead, all in 22 oz. bottles for you to sample. As with all our Thursday night beer tastings you will receive a 10% discount on any beers we sample that evening.

We will be open until 10 PM this Friday & Saturday and every Fri/Sat night right through the summer months. We will be closed Easter Sunday so we may enjoy the holiday with our families. I do have some bad news we need to pass along. Cork’s mascot has passed away…no not Ted the wine dog...but Floyd the fish. He had a short, yet uneventful 4 day life here at Cork’s. His smile and infectious personality will be sorely missed.

Our next big event will be our 3rd Annual Customer Appreciation Day, which will be sometime in late July or early August. Be sure to check the website (corksfinewine.com). MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, and any other crazy social network that we’re on for details and updates on all events happening here at Cork’s.
I hope you all have a great Easter and we’ll see you soon.

Robert
