Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. We have a special guest for this week's Friday night (4:00 to 7:00 pm) wine tasting here at Cork's. Redsox great and budding winemaker, Bill "Spaceman" Lee will be here to sample you on his Spaceman Red Blend. This is a bold blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah, and will be sale priced at $19.99 for the event. Bill will also autograph bottles for you...pose for pictures...and I'm sure spin some great baseball tales for us all.
We will also have Kurt from Horizon Beverage to sample you on some wines as well. Kurt will have Flying Winemaker Chardonnay and Lot 171 from Cameron Hughes. He will also have the delicious Firesteed Pinot Noir from Oregon, and a new red blend called Colby Red. He will finish his warm up act and get you all ready for the Spaceman with the new Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey. This should be 1 of the best Friday night tastings of the year so be sure to be here!
Not to be outdone, Marc has not 1, but 2 great beer tastings lined up for this week! Tonight’s (Thursday from 4:30 to 7) beer tasting is with our friends from Berkshire Brewing out in Western Mass. Our new rep. from them is Tom, and he will be here to taste you through their entire lineup of brews. Here's a look at what Tom will be pouring: Gold Spike Ale...Steel Rail Pale Ale...Berkshire Traditional Ale...Czech Pilsner...River Ale...Drayman's Porter...Coffeehouse Porter...Shabadoo Black & Tan...and Cabin Fever Ale.
Saturday’s bonus beer tasting is from 1 to 3 PM and will be another new guy, this 1 from Lagunitas Brewing Co. from Petaluma, CA. I think I’ve only had their IPA but Marc now has 5 beers in house from them. Here are the interestingly named brews we will be sampling: IPA…IPA Maximus…Dogtown Pale Ale…Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’…Wilco Tango Foxtrtot… Bavarian Doppel Weizen…and Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale Brown Shugga Substitute. Definitely some interesting names of beers for sure, and from what I’ve heard the beers are pretty darn good, too.

Not really sure of what to make of the new Sox Mgr. we’ll have to get the Spaceman’s take on that one. At least we have the Bruins back in Stanley Cup form…the Pats on a bit of a roll...and even the Celtics should be getting back to work soon.
