Labor day weekend festivities...

Welcome to Cork’s weekly newsletter. We have a bunch of stuff going on at Cork’s as we unofficially wrap up the summer and get ready for the fall season. I love this time of year with the crisp days and cool nights…and Autumn beers! We don’t have a beer tasting this week as we get ready for our 5th Annual Kick-Off Beer tasting which is next Saturday, September 12th from 2:30to 5 PM. And instead of a wine tasting we will be celebrating Jack Daniels 159th birthday with a big bash and tasting on Friday night from 5 to 7. I’m not 100 % sure what this event entails, but I’ve been told it involves Jack Daniels, Gentleman Jack, Single Barrel, and birthday cake…sounds pretty good to me!!

Let’s talk a little bit about the big beer tasting coming up next Saturday. Josh has been working hard at putting the lineup together, and if I do say so myself it looks like an awesome mix. Here is just a brief glimpse of the beers we will be tasting. Opa-Opa…Magic Hat…Pizza Port…Brooklyn Brewery…Longtrail…Leinenkugel…Pretty things…High & Mighty… Sam Adams…Gritty’s…Troegs…Mayflower…Southern Tier…Sierra Nevada… Woodchuck and a bunch of others! It looks like we’ll be at about 15 tables and 85 beers to try…not too huge where you can’t walk around and talk to the reps…but still plenty of stuff to peak your interest. We will be putting the complete lineup and more info on the website in the next few days, so be sure to check it out at corksfinewine.com.

Let’s see…we have the Pats last preseason game tonight…yawwwwn…the Sox trying to bury those pesky Rays down in St. Pete…and Tiger, Phil, VJ and the boys getting ready to tee it up next door in Norton. The weather has been just spectacular, and looks to be that way right though the weekend. So stop by and grab your favorite summer beverage…or perhaps some fresh Oktoberfest beer to enjoy this long holiday weekend. We will be open from 10 – 6 on Monday, Labor Day for those last minute beverage needs. I hope you all have a great and safe holiday, and we will see you soon.

P. S. I just saw the Jack Daniels birthday cake and it’s freakin huge!! So you folks better come and grab a slice before Tommy Bolini gets a hold of it!!
